Was the wx.StatusBar stuff implemented completely?

When I did the demo for the phoenix version I changed a few things to get
it to act the same.
What I am refering to is the FieldRect stuff.

The current way it is is a bit of a pain calculating where an item should
go; Ex: in a custom statusbar with a injected widget.

Was this complete or did it require more tweaking?
You can see the differences in the classic demo and what I did for the
phoenix port of the same demo.
